Is it ever recommended to use loctite on threads of optic mounting equipment?

My specific use would be for a RRA Dominator and EOTech built in mount.

I used removable Loctite on every fastener on my AR.  Loctite 222 or 242 - both hold up very well to the beating a rifle can take, but let loose when needed.  A little dab'll do ya'.

Since the Dominator is only held on by 2 screws at the back, loc-tite would be a good idea. If they loosen up, even a little bit, the front would have the potential to move more than the back of the mount.

I have personally seen ring mount screws, ACOG carry handle screws, buffer tube extensions, the nut holding KAC free-float rails, grip screws, ARMS#40 lock nut and more all work loose due to vibration from shooting.

I use blue loctite on almost anything that has threads and mounts on a gun.

That's good to know.  I figured everyone would say that the higher end products stay tight.

I'll pick some up at Home Depot tomorrow.

not only do the "higher end products not stay tight in the case of the ARMS #40 the retaining nut can work loose and the BUIS will just wiggle a little until the nut falls on the ground.  then the whole thing gets real loose and tries to fall apart.  by that time the nut is GONE and a replacement nut is two weeks to a month away and costs $10.00 from ARMS.

not picking on arms.  they just came to mind.
