I just recently bought a TAO1NSN for my AR. The prob i have with it is that it is way off at the range. Is it possible for it to be "too high" mounted  on top of my carry handle? Should i just tale off the flat top mont and mont it staight to my carry handle or should i get a flat top reciever? Another question rises if i decied to mount it straight to the carry handle, do i have to drill a hole in my carry handle to accomidate the 2 screw holes in the ACOG? You ACOG vets, i need your wisdom and advice. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Doug

I dont know how much of an effect it has on it, but the NSN is calibrated for a flat top.

so you have a rail mounted on your carry handle and then the nsn mounted on that?

just thinking about it i think thats way too high for it.

either mount it in the carry handle or mount it on a flattop which is the way it was intended.

with the two holes there are dimensions in the back of the manual that shows where to drill the second hole but i wouldnt bother.

I am a little confused about how you have it mounted as well, but however it is sounds pretty wrong. Did you do it that way or did someone esle do it?

Putting it on a flat top would be best. If you took the flat top mount off the scope and put it directly in the carry handle that would be ok too. No you would not have to drill any holes in your receiver, just use one screw and one hole.
