Anyone know about this new scope?  SWFA is offering it for sale and makes it sound like the greatest thing since sliced bread.  I realize that you  can't really trust what you read in some company's marketing  brochure, but I have dealt with SWFA before and they do sell top quality optics at competitive prices.  This scope does sound pretty awesome for a great price.  I'm wondering if any of you "experts" out there know anything about the history of this scope/company.

Google did come up with one review that was super positive - some guy who claimed to have been involved in evaluating prototypes.  Claims he's neutral, but who knows if he's really on the company's payrole or the best friend of the owner.

I think I would rather get a Leupold Mark 4 or Nikon Tactical because I know what I am getting with them. That scope may be awesome, or a piece of crap. I just don't want to be the gunni pig on that one.

Thanks for the reply Strick.  Lack of any history is a big concern.  If I buy a Leupold I know I'm dealing with a company that's established a reputation for quality over dozens of years and with thousands of customers.  But still, the specs on the xotic sound very impressive, and I do have some confidence in SWFA.  It also comes with a damn good guarantee, which gives me some confidence.  Of course the company  has to actually be around for its guarantee to be worth anything

Right now, I'm just hoping to find someone out there with first hand experience with  this scope, or a couple of more links to reviews of this product, or at least somebody, who has a friend who knows someone who once shoot next to someone using this scope.   Come on, anyone out there have any info?

I like the fact that it's going to have a FFP reticle, versus a RFP.
This is my main bitch concerning NF, Nikon, even Leupold.

I doubt I sell my USO SN-3 to buy one though..  Who knows?????

It's true that U.S Optics makes awesome scopes.  Of course for $1500-2000 they better be pretty goddamn awesome  That's my quandry.  I basically want a $1,500 scope for $800.  Xotic really does sound like it has some of the same features and quality construction.  But there's the fear that you only get what you pay for, and an $800 scope that comes apart after a couple of hundred rounds isn't a good value.  That's why I'm hoping someone out there has some first hand experience with this scope or the company that makes it.

I agree totally with your post, pippin. (All except the GD part.)

When you buy a USO product, your getting THE best scope in the world, IMO. They should cost more.

I have made this statement numerous times. But, when you compare the USO SN-3 to a S&B PMII, the cost of the SN-3 doesnt seem that out of line.

Not a knock on the Schmidty!! Great scope!! But, they cost more than the SN-3 and has fewer options.

USO=Custom scope(My SN-3 3.2-17x44mm cost me $1600.00 in a group buy)
S&B=You get what we give you!! Period!! ($2500.00)

I'll play the "wait and see" role on this new scope.
There will probably be bugs to work out when the scope is implemented to the field. The 56mm objective is all ready obsolete, IMHO>>>>>>

I just preorderd one,  should be here mid november, i guess im going to be the guini pig,  i figure 400 for a supper sniper and the main gripe in that camp is 1 feel of the turrets and 2 clarity if this scope addresed those two issues. then if these two issues have been addressed, then its worth 800 to me.

from the info that i found on http://www.opticstalk.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=370&PN=1

it looks like its going to be able to run with the leupys and NF's

well hopefully these turn out to be good as they are hyped to be.

hey if you can drop the money on the US optics go for it, but i cant justify spending the same about of mony that I would pay for an AR10T IMO

M4HK33 - I'm really tempted to make the leap myself.  Sounds like this scope is  going to be comparable to the Nightforce, but at 1/2 the price.  Weight alone leads me to believe this is going to be a really rugged scope.  (Scope is going on AR30 that I usually shoot from bi-pod, so a couple of extra ounces really won't be an issue for me).

Would just be nice if I could get some more info about scope or company before I plunk down my hard earned $.

I've seen posting on SWFA.com saying anticipated delivery in November.  Do you have any info.  on whether this is realistic date or whether its going to be more like  Spring of 05' before scope actually appears.

Well, I made the leap and put my order in for the  scope.  I sure hope this isn't going to be an $800 mistake.

Anyone have any idea on ship date?  SWFA says November.  Doesn't say when in November, and I have this sinking feeling that November is going to end up being February.
