CAN ANYONE SHOW SOME PICTURES OF HOW COWITNESS SHOULD WORK.  I HAVE GATHERED ALOT OF INFO FROM YOU EXPERIENCED INDIVIDUALS, AND I AM GOING TO BE MOUNTING A RED DOT OPTIC WITH IN THE NEXT WEEK.  I STILL AM A LITTLE UP IN THE AIR ABOUT EXACTLY WHICH ONE.  I SURE OF ONE THING.  IT WILL BE DONE SOON, AND I'M 90 PERCENT SURE WHICH ONE IT WILL BE (NOT THE MOST POPULAR OF CHOICES).
THANKS,

I'm sure Bradd's is an Aimpoint too.  I'd take a pic of my M2 in front of a PVS14, but my digital camera probably won't pick it up

See the original here.  It was posted in this thread along with sight pictures through many other optics.

How do you guys get the right height?  I got bm to tell me that the height from the top of the receiver to the top of the front sight post is 1.350".  So I measured the center of the tube down to the bottom of the rings and came up with .850".  I have a 3/4 inch riser on order so that accounts for .580".  If I put them together I should come up with 1.430".  This should put my dot just a little over the front sight.  All of this sounds good and looks good on paper.  Is this the way you guys did it.  Please Tell me how you all did it.

No need to put that much effort into it friend! If you want to run an Aimpoint on your flattop AR and want it to co-witness then you just have to buy an ARMS #22M68 with either a full spacer or the EXT spacer, KAC (non low mount), PRI, LaRue (std), etc....

Personally I'd rather shoot with the rear sight down, being able to cowitness just makes it easier to zero it before I get to the range
