I had something strange happen at the range today, and I am wondering if any of you have ever had this problem before.

I have an Aimpoint CompML2 with an Aimpoint quick release mount. It is the kind with the 1 1/2" finger tightening screwdown knob on the side. It also has notches in it that makes it impossible to "overtighten". If you tighten past a certain point, the knob skips over the notches so that it can't tighten any further.

Anyways, I was at the range with this rifle today. I started out by putting about 90 rounds through, and the all went exactly where I wanted them to. On my fourth mag, my point of impact was about 3 inches to the left of my point of aim. I changed targets and shot another 3 round group nice and slow. These were worse!

I'm not sure how I noticed, but I discovered that my Aimpoint mount was loose on my rifle. I tightened it down, and I was back on my zero. I shot a few more mags, and I didn't have a repeat of the probelm.

This thing has me worried now. I don't intend to use any other optics with this rifle. I am considering using some locktite to keep this thing in place. I am offically soliciting your input!

Deja vu!

I replied in the General Discussion forum a minute ago (I think).

I would recommend dropping the Rail Grabber and getting a $150 GG&G mount in it's place ... it has a built-in battery holder.

Larue is the way to go, and it's about $30 cheaper then the GG&G. If you want extra battery storage go with the Aimpoint module.

That big ass sticking out like a tree limb knob on the Rail Grabber is one of the worse things I've ever seen on an optic mount

La Rue

Lotta great dealers here, www.gandrtactical.com is my favorite.

Try the LaRue.  Carry a spare batt in a grip or stock w/ batt tubes.

What LaRue makes an Aimpoint mount?  I'm just waiting on the cantilever.
