[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Generations of Aimpoints?

Are there different generations of Aimpoints to look out for? I know the older ones used to go by a slightly different name but how about the new ones?

I noticed for a while that some M2s and maybe ML2s as well were blue in color.

I don't see this anymore, so things must have changed. Not sure if this qualifies for a "generation" or not...

Of the ones most of us use.

CompM - First 'combat optic'
CompM-XD - More rugged than M
CompM2/ML2 - M2 = nightvision, ML2 = no NV. Both have MUCH better battery life than M and M-XD

If I were you I would get either the M2 or ML2 if budget allows. They can be hard for around $320 from the dealers on this site.
