I would be thankful for a description of the differences between the older CompM and the newer M2 sights. Is it just battery life (1000hrs. vs. 10 000 hrs.)? Is overall ruggedness the same? Wasn't it this older version that got adopted as the M68? Thanks Cato |

The M2/ML2's also use a one-piece body, instead of the 2-piece of the earlier generations. As mentioned, the earlier optics used a 10 MOA LED masked down to 3 MOA, while the M2/ML2 uses an unmasked 4 MOA LED, giving a clearer dot. Battery life is 36 times better than the CompM/ML and 10 times better than the CompM XD. -Troy |
The difference between the CompM and CompM-XD is in the text you quoted from Troy. Battery life. The CompM has only 1/36th the battery life of the M2 while the XD models have 1/10th. |
