How well do acogs hold zero when you remove them and reinstall them?

Close enought for Gov't work...

Seriously what mount?

Using the ARMS 19ACOG and 19S - no issues
TA51 - less than 1 MOA in my experiences.

Carry handle ---  seems to depend upon the carry handle.

Mike,

I had no problems on a Colt CH I was using - but then another gun using a Diemaco CH had issues.

My guess is try and see for YMMV

My TA31 / ARMS #19S did hold zero. I shot 10 shot group, remounted on the same address, and shot another 10 groups. The center of groups almost didn't shift at all. (100 yards)

It is more a function of the mount than the scope on a flat top.  My TA 51 did not return too well, so I only took it off once.  The 19S is much more repeatable.

#19S - very repeatable... I've had the scope off and on hundreds of times and if there was a change in zero, it was small enough that I never noticed it.

On the carry handle, I had less luck. I did manage to get a repeatable zero (give or take 0.5-1.0 MOA) by tightening the allen screw until it was hand tight and giving it another 1/4 turn with an allen wrench. By applying about the same torque every time, it seemed to do OK. The downside was that shooting would vibrate the mount loose within about 100rds and the zero would start walking.

Using blue loctite and vigorous application of the allen wrench, I was able to solve the problem of the mount shooting loose; but repeatable zero pretty much went away (still within about 3-4MOA usually).

I only ran a carry handle mount about three months, so I've got limited experience with that.

What about on a removeable carry handle?
