What are the differences between the PVS-14D and the ITT PVS-14 that are both being sold.  The PVS-14D is more expensive, what does it do that the ITT one doesn't?

I believe the D comes with a sacrificial window and demist shield the other package does not.
The lp/mm should be the same.

Also- the D has the military tube housing which upgrades it to waterproof and submersible.

D has the better intensifier tube.  D turns off when you flip it up on the head mount automatically.

My -14D is the clearest, brightest night optic I've owned to date ( and I go back to PVS-2s and S&W StarTrons). Makes my old PVS-7B look pretty poor.

My paper work lists it at 68 lp/mm I believe.

Its not submersible just waterproof to 3m. The 18 is truly dive capable though and can be mounted over dive goggles.

Glad I never went swimmming with them! Kind of hard to explain afterwards....

Anyone try out the new single battery version?

if you are refering to the mini monocular, usnv14, etc etc etc, yes i have. the head mount is the same as any pvs7b or d and the pvs14/6015 series. it does not have a variable gain od auto shut off when removed from head mount but that is a viable trade off for the superior weapons mount and single battery. not to mension the fact that lens being used by US NIGHT VISION are fantastic and the high quality tubes from ITT.

mine is a definite increase in performance from my pvs7d omni 5 64lp Litton and ITT 6015 omni 5 64 lp . it is submersible to 20 meters and is lighter than the ITT 6015 i had. the weapons mount that comes with them is by far the best for mounting to a flat top. it has a quick releleas elever then will not come off by mistake.

the controls are a radical departure from the norm but with a little use become very user freindly.
