I wouldn't normally look at stuff with extremely low price tags but I have a question.

Eventually I want a nice reflex sight to put on top of an A3.  In the mean time, would I be better off with the sights on a carry handle ($100) or just getting by with a cheap BSA ($50 or less)?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

you can get a brand new 30mm bsa from walmart for $25

I like the 50mm bsa reddot, not only is it both eyes open, you can see the dot with both eyes if its mounted far enough forward

e30, i was thinking about the same thing for my rra rifle that is in the works at their factory (woo hoo!). i looked at one at academy and it had paralax (if that is spelled correctly and percieved as what i understand it to be.) like a bitch. i sat it on the counter on the brightest setting and would move my head from side to side. the dot moved too! i didn't like this because it seems to me you would have to get the EXACT same cheek weld every time to score accurate hits. i will just use my arms #40 until next tax time and get a holosight. that or get the detachable handle.. tyson

I put an inexpensive BSA red dot on my kids single shot .22lr.

holds zero and easy to use.

Borrowed a Ruger Mark 2 with a BSA on it. Never touched one before. I then  shot to second place in my class.

It worked for me !!!!!!

Well DUH! Of course the dot moves. Every red dot moves when you move your head.

What the dot hovers over, OTHOH, should stay put (relatively speaking). Cheap scopes do have more parallax on the edges, but even an EOTech has some as Forest showed a month ago (approxiamtely 2" when the reticle is on the edge of the window IIRC).

I put one on my 10/22, I didnt have to touch the adjustments because it was right on, which was weird. It holds zero great and is awesome for plinking.
