Hey guys need some help.  I have a Flatop that with an armalite one piece mount with a Leupold VX-II 3x9 in.  Everytime I go to the range the scope slides up in the rings from recoil even though everytime I tighten the bolts even more then the the previous.  What is the best way to make it stay in place ?

Crank the bolts as tight as they will go?

Some other solution?

One thing to try is to remove the scope from the rings, and apply some powdered rosin to them before re-mounting the scope. Rosin will help the rings to grip the scope, and can be found at music stores, or from brownell's.

I don't have that ring mount, but if at least one half of a ring (saddle or the cap)isn't made from steel, the alum. can and will stretch and can cause just what you describe. Tightening more and more only stretches the alum. and then scopes can still slide after more shooting.he thicker the alum. the less it stretches, steel doesn't stretch, it only bends and flexes.
