I recently received a number of items in a lot purchase at an auction. In that lot were several firearms parts, including a couple of EOTech sights. But, they were as is and the armor hood was not with the sights, nor were the mounting screws. The screws I can find easily enough, but I was wondering if there is somewhere that I can buy the hood for the EOTech that I have kept.

Does anyone know of a source for these? I have mailed EOtech, but haven't heard back from them. I have also looke at making one myself, but thought I would try the easiest way first.

Thanks, Kirt

Edit to add, EOTech responded as I typed this! Strange. Anyway, Greg Schultz with EOTech explained that if it does not have a hood in the first place, it cannot be fitted with one. I hadn't looked to compare the two.

If there is a slot near the base of the sight then you can install a hood.  but most likely you have a 502 or the Bushnell version of the EOtech so the hood is not compatible with the sight.  the mounting screw you can get from Yankee hill, they have a improved version of the thumb screw use by EOTech.

The Bushnell version was first and it did not have the hood the EOtech's have.
