I'm scope shopping for my new Bushy Varminter, and usually use Leupolds(no complaints) but ain't married to them. I want a long range type scope (not<10x at max adj.),am thinking about a ranging type reticle to save on pre-shot prep. looked at a Kahles w/TD Smith ret., Spingfield Armory, etc. Also looked at American assembled Ziess w/stan. ret. All I know is Leupold, anybody use the afore mentioned brands? Advice, suggestions, preferences would be appreciated. thanks...

Leupold, Kahles, in that order, then pic the one that best model that suits your needs. NOTE: Swarovski actually owns Kahles and has the more advanced tech of those two.

If you like Leupolds why not a mil-dot?

Using mil-dots you can range a target of known sized objects out to really long ranges. It takes a bit of training to use ... I've had mine for a couple of months and I'm getting use to looking at targets though the thing but still use a chart to help.
