Couple questions if ya don't mind. 1)I know a TA31 on a #19s and #40 will work behind the "hump" but will it fit over the #40 with the uncut aperature? 2)Will a compact ACOG 2x20 on a TA60 mount and a #40 fit behind the hump and leave enough eye relief? I know the 2x Compacts have more eye relief than the TA31 and other ACOGs. 3)Am I correct in assuming that the 2x Compact on a #19s will sit too low to clear the front sight? Thanks, James |

1) Yes it will fit 2) Sure, no problem 3) Well, no option you have listed so far will clear the front sight, but it might be a little more noticable with the Comp ACOGs because they have lower magnification. I dont really know though, I have no experience uning Comp ACOGs on flat tops. |

While I don't have a direct answer to question #3, this is what I can tell ya. I mounted a US Optics SN4 with its Posa lock mount/base on an ARMS #36, at 3.5x and below the front sight blur is noticeable because of the low magnification, as new-arguy pointed out. The SN4 is mounted higher than a compact ACOG would on a 19S, so... |

Thanks for the advice guys. I guess I will just fork over the extra money for the TA31. I really like the compact ACOGS. I have shot a TA50 on a 19S and the front site was a blur that was hardly noticable so I figure with the 2x compact it will be alot more noticable. I am just wondering how noticable it will be with the TA60 mount however. I also don't really like the idea of a flip up front site so that kinda rules that out. Thanks again, James |

Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera, but there was a pic of a compact mounted on a TA60 floating around somewhere; maybe someone can find it for you. If you check out the tacked thread at the top of this board, you can see some views through the compact ACOG. It will give you an idea of what the front sight will look like through the ACOG. I have never had a problem with the TA60, as far as repeat zero, but I don't take it off very often. Steve. |
