Hello all,

I think I've pretty much made up my mind on a scope and rings; but I'd like to hear some opinions. I'm thinking about putting a Burris Black Diamond scope on my A3 flattop using a pair of "Super High" Burris Signature Zee rings. First, are those rings high enough? Too high? Second, any opinions on Burris scopes in general and the Black Diamond series in particular? Any opinions on the rings?

I saw a few places selling AR-15 "Tactical" scope rings for near $150. What's the point of these things? They look beefy enough, but I can't even imagine my $10 Tasco rings failing.
Ever. For ANY reason.

Ones cast aluminum and ones STEEL.

I would go with Weaver ring a over Tasco. Not all Tasco rings aluminum but most are.  The $100 and up will return to zero when you take the scope off. You will notice your shot will be more on.  If you put a good scope you should put a good set of ring on it to hold it true.
