I should have time friday to take it out in the daytime and get some more pics.
The mount that it is on is the one that comes with the sight, I can tell already that I'm going to need an arms or like to raise it up.

The chevron is much more defined than the pics and has ~20(4-6 NV) different intensity settings. If anyone knows how to adjust a canon a40 digital camera to clear it up let me know.

Operating on tritium only you are able to see the chevron outside in the dark fine. I haven't opened up any light sticks yet, I'm not sure how much/were to get replacements...

HA! You should see the garage. Wish I didn't have to wear blues/smurf costumes all the time, sure would free up some space for more gear.

...Sent daytime photos to FRO. Friday I should have time to take it out for a few hours. It's going to be windy and ~20 out but I should be ok. I have my issue set of neoprenes in one of these heaps.

Another note about the sight, the chevron looks like it is sitting low but when the rifle is up to cheak it is actually aligned very well with the tip of my front sight. I don't think I'll have to do much zeroing. Thats a good thing cause I only have a little less than a battle pack of SA left.

I haven't had an Aimpoint or Trijicon before so if there are any special requests for tomarrow, besides not turning into a human popsicle, let me know.

Or the big honking knob (switch) on the right! That’s the classic example of trying to fix a problem that does not exist (the Aimpoint).

Man Dugedug, I wish I could send you some ammo just for taking these pics but I'm pretty low myself, lol.

Fro, I wish I could send you some also for posting.

Good pics,
Jimmy.

What "problem" was Aimpoint "fixing" by correctly placing their control knob where its actually easily accessed and manipulated under stress/while wearing gloves etc?

I was referring to the Tripower attempting to "fix" Aimpoint’s deficiencies (batteries) [;D]

I was also commenting about the obstructed field of view from that HUGGE CONTROL KNOB (I'm a lefty) and since the Tripower can not be "flipped" like the Aimpoint, it's very obstructive to us lefties.

That tint kinda reminds me of my buddies BSA reddot.

The second to last one shows the red wash that I sent mine back for.

You can sorta see it in some others but theres too much ambient light.

I didn't even think about the green tint till it was mentioned, now it bugs me. And the red wash does show up from time to time, not real often though. Must be when the suns reflextion is at a certain degree. Are these flaws that needs to be sent back and fixed katana?

The bulk on the upper right side doesn't matter a whole lot since it blurs out if you shoot with both eyes open.

I had her out in the 11 degree cold today. Overall, I like it. A few things need fixing to make it an outstanding sight. First thing that I need to do, since I'm not going to return it, is get the thing raised up. With the mount that comes with it the only way you can really use the sight is with the front sight removed. Just hate to spend another $130 for a mount.

Second thing I can control is I need dust caps. Going through heavy brush and rolling around in the snow and dirt got the lenses dusty. I'm not sure what caps I can get for it. A kill flash seems to be unnecessary.

Honestly though, for $400 I think the quirks should have been worked out.

Ask if you have any specific questions. I didn't have time to zero it in on a range though...

Actually I think you might have one that has some of the upgrades to mitigate the problem.

Mine did not have any green tint, and that appears to wash out the red in some of the lighting I'm seeing in your pictures.

The red wash is a reflection of the reticule of the glass, and cant be corrected. Trijicon is aware of the problem and has thier engineers working on it, however they will not correct or upgrade existing sites. I'll just warn you about it becuase it does block most of the viewing area in certain lighting conditions, I started noticing it in most all lighting. PArticularly when the batteries are off.
