I have a couple questions. I want to mount a Aimpoint scope on my A3 flattop. I also want it to be co-witness. What scope mount do I need? Also, when you use a co-witness sight do you look through the rear sight, aimpoint and down the front sight together or just the aimpoint and the front sight? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I would take a look at the ARMs 22M68 or a mount from KAC or Aimpoint. http://www.armsmounts.com/list.html#22M68 For match shooting etc., one can have the rear sight down and look at the red dot from the Aimpoint and pass on where ever the front sight is (moves depending on my head location). For a little worst conditions (i.e. Police, Military or things that go bump in the night) one can leave the rear sight up and aiming with the front sight, the red dot should be on top of or at the top of the front post. Second mode of operation allows using the iron sights if the Aimpoint fails or you do not get to turn it on. In this mode of operation there is the option of using the A2 sights with the carry handle cut off (i.e. sights always up). Take a look at several of the setups at the end of this tread for reference: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=167406
