The ring is 65 moa is it not? Is there a specific reason for this diameter (Ranging)?

Yes, the outer ring is 65 MOA. My SWAG on the size of the outer ring is to allow faster aquisition and targeting during CQB, something the 1MOA dot alone can not do.[:\]

It easier to "encase" your target(area) with the outer ring while pinpointing you POA with the inner dot rather than trying to find the smaller dot alone in a rapid frantic situation. Thats my opinion anyway!

i've found an average human torso is about 65MOA wide at 50yd...

Which would make them 32.5" across? I would guess that a human would subtend about 23 MOA?
