Anyone out there having opinions on the Aimpoint optics for a flatop AR, The Trijicon NSN looks like the way to go but they are expensive and I am leaning towards the competitive pricing of the Aimpoints.

It serves my purposes in all ways.  Its fast at close ranges, yet accurate enough to make 300yd hits.  And the battery life is incredible.

Nice pics of some nice weapons "platforms", wanted some feedback cause Aimpoint is the direction I am headed for. They say a pic is worth a thousand words. I forgot about the battery, do you leave it in there all the time? I like those pics!!!

Yeah the battery stays in.  You just turn the brightness setting downt to its lowest level.  The battery supposedly lasts many years in this state.  I have only had mine for about a year though. I mounted it on the ARMS M22#68 with the larger spacer.  Works great.  I can email you some pics if you want, just IM me.

Can't go wrong with an Aimpoint. I have one on an M4, one on a SW36 and one on my Benelli.
If you don't need the NV capability, you can save about thirty bucks on the purchase.  try G&R tactical, they have the best prices on Aimpoint I have seen.

I'm a firm believer in the KISS concept...  Standard M4 stock, Arms 40, Aimpoint Comp M2 with QRP mount, Hogue grip. SA80 mag, tac sling and my one gizmo concession - a Streamlight M3 tactical light mount.  The light hasn't arrived yet, but the mount is here.  Now if my new M4 upper would just arrive. I'll be happy... that one will have a 14.5 inch barrel plus phantom and a GG&G slip up front sight with side sling adaptor.
