I have never seen a TA31F up close, but all the literature says it comes with the flattop mount.

Does this attach directly to a flattop? Will it work with a #19S? Can the mount be removed?

It would be nice if somebody could post some up close photos to help me understand how it works. I'm used to the Compact ACOGs with the M16 base.

All ACOGs ecept the ring compacts have a M16 base. Its a long hollow rail coming from the bottom of the scope. The flat top mount is a seperate mount and you can use the 19S instead. Then sell that mount help pay for the 19S.

BigD: http://www.swfa.com/riflescopes/trijicon/trijacog.html The TA31 on that page has no FT mt. So you could save some $$$, if you planned on buying the ARMS #19s, or you could do it the way DEVL stated above. Either way you'll make out.
