Forgive me if this has been asked and answered before.

What is the purpose of this item?

To store an exra battery?

You can have double the battery life of a single battery.  So it works 2000-20000 hours instead of 1000-10000 hours.

I don't think that's right.  The module just stores an additional battery, it doesn't double battery life.

the factory 2bl batt. mod. does not 2bl batt. life.
It is a storage unit only.
There are, I believe, non-factory, 2bl mod's that do 2bl life but change the volt. spec. not sure wow/why.

OK tell me if this is correct...

You have two batteries facing toword each other in a sleeve.  You place this 2 battery "unit" into the sight and screw on the extended cap.  When battery #1 runs out you remove the "unit" and rotate it 180 degrees and reinsert it giving access to the battery on the other side and reinstall cap.  This is how you get double the life.  Is that correct or not?  If you have to fiddle with the individual bateries whats the point?

Devls right, in  that sense.  Once batt.A dies, shooter flips batt carrier, Batt B works, 2x's the batt. life.
I only meant that both batt.'s aren't "tapped" at the same time.  There's no auto. extended run time, for all intents and purposes the cap is storage only.

I haven't seen those.
How much do they run?
Where do you get them?
Do they work for the Comp M and the Comp M2?

They have one for the older Aimpoints I have seen advertised on the net and I know Sableco has the Aimpoint one for the M2/ML2 for like $20 or $25.

So if I use the GGG mounts (which I do) I will have triple time with a little more fumbling.  30,000 hours of NV.  Woohoo!!!

Guys, thanks for the info.

Good thread for those who did not know.
