Greetings.. was wondering what height scope rings (and or mounting setup) would be best to mount on my bushy A-3?
Am probably gonna mount a Nikon 3x9 on it.
Dont wanna order something thats too low, or too high.. thanx for your suggestions.

They're high as hell ($90 for the rings, plus another $30 for 1-inch inserts), but ARMS #22High rings work great, and place the scope at the same level as the irons would be, so you won't need a cheekpiece. The Armalite 1-piece mount is the same height, and is available for 1-inch scopes, so this would be your best bet, actually.

The Armalite 1 piece I think is shorter thatn the 22H. I think the armalite is about 1.2" where aas the 22H are 1.45"
I have the armalite on my AR-10 and I feel that I have to turn my head a little more to the side to see through the scope. Its a lot lower than my reminton 700 with Leupold scope. I may end up with the 22H if I can find some one who has tried it...

There are mixed reviews on the durability of the 22H. I'm also considering the 35qd as well. Anyone else have ant thoughts?

The Armalite mount puts about 3/4" between the top of the rail and the bottom of a 1" scope tube.  By my ruler this puts the center about 1/8" lower than the center of the aperture on the iron sights.  IMHO it's the most cost-effective way to mount a scope on an AR.

Armalite is a great choice. I mounted one on my RR midlength 9mm AR today. The scope is a Luepold 3-9x40mm. It's a good beefy mount with a recoil lug that engages a slot on your flatop rail. I can see how they designed them to work even on a heavier recoiling AR10.
