I am on the market for a decent pair of binos but dont want to spend $1000. I have seen some surplus German binos that were supposedly mfg'd by Zeiss for around $200-$250. Does anyone have a set and if so, what are your impressions?TIA

Mine are made by Hensoldt. They are great binos. Tough, clear, and not overly large. Zeiss glass. A well spent $250

Check out a place in Kalifornia called DeutscheOptik (Sp?). They handle a lot of surplus reconditioned military glasses. I bought a pair of 7X50 Steiner Military/Marine glasses from them a couple of years back. They were surplus from the IDF, and cost me less than half of dealer cost on a new set.....
