I am having a minor problem with my EOTech Model 551.  The dot appears right on the front sight of my RRA A4.  It's sighted in for 50yrds right now.  What would be the best way to correct this situation.

Don't sound like a problem to me.....In fact, that's what most people look for !!!

It just annoys me.  I don't really want to see the front sight.  I guess I should have thought of that first LOL.

That is troublesome. Um, is your front sight zeroed for 50 yards too? The windage should exactly by the same, unless you have an unusally mounted barrel that's cockeyed or something. On my Eotech, the reticle is just right about the flip-up front post, just like everyone else's.

I say, check the front sight post to see where it's shooting. It may be your windage too. What type of rear sight are you using? It may be off an inch or two at that distance. The Eotech always points where it shoots no matter where your eyes are, whereas the peep sight does not.

themao - I think he means the dot is on top of his front post (and he does not like that), rather than the dot is off to the right of the post (I could be wrong however).

If it is #1 - sorry thats life - you need a flip front to get rid of th efrotn tower if you have a non magnified sight.

If #2 - something is wrong - correctable with more info.

I don't have a rear sight at this time.  I believe the front sight is where it is supposed to be.  It just annoys me.  I guess I will either have to go back to a magnified optic or get a flip up front sight.

Can the Front sight be removed on a RRA A4 upper?  It would have to be replaced with something correct?

Don't apy any attention to the front sight, you should be foucs on the target, if you try it, the front sight will disappear as you get more use to it.  take it to the field and try it on targets.  look beyond and foucs on the target.  if it still bothers you, then you might want to get a flipper front, for an RRA upper, it usually is sold with a muzzle brake, and it is pinned on the barrel. you willhave to have a gun smith remove it so you can change out the front sight post.

Hope this helps.

Solutions:

1 Get a folding front post

2 Chop off/ grind sand finish the front post if you never intend to use it.

3 get a riser mount with thumbnuts for upper Maybe a ARMS multibase (the throwlever #19 DOES NOT WORK THE LEVERS GET IN THE WAY

4 get a throw lever ARMS eo tech mount from MSTN (these are about 2 inches higher than the upper)

Getting rid of the post or rasing the EO will solve the problem.
