I need to adjust the front sight on my new DPMS 20" hbar, I looked on Cheaperthandirt.com and the description for their A2 tool says it... "Works on front sight post which have 4 pin holes". My front sight has 5 pin holes. Is that uncommon? Is there a tool for my rifle, or do I have to half-ass my sight adjustment with screwdrivers? BTW...this is my first AR, and I'm thoroughly pleased with it so far! I guess its time to throw my SKS on the scrap heap. |

Great! DMPS is peddling barrels with the old M16 front sight post to save a few cents..... Replace the post with the square M16A2 post. Round front post has shadows and light reflectins from its round shape which distort your sight picture enough to cause problems at longer ranges in certain light patterns. -- Chuck |

Great! DMPS is peddling barrels with the old M16 front sight post to save a few cents..... Could that be the case?...I was sort of disappointed by the texture/finish of the front site. Compared to the rest of the rifle, it looks kind of crappy. Can just the little sight post it-self be changed out, or does the whole sight have to be removed from the barrel and replaced? |
