| I've decided to buy a Leupold 8.5-25 Long range scope for my AR and mount it in an armalite mount. I would like to be able to develop loads with this high powered scope on my Remington 700's with badger bases. Will this armalite mount bolt onto the badger angled base? If it doesn't I may have to go with Badger super high rings for the AR so I can have these mounting options. Can anyone compare the armalite mount to badger rings for the AR? |

I have a Badger base on my 700 - with Badger (standard height) rings holding a Leupold 8.5x25, 50mm scope. On my AR I have an Armalite mount holding a Leupold 6.5x20, 40mm scope. You will be able to mount the Armalite mount on the Badger base, as they both use the Picatinney rail. Only problem you may have is getting a 50mm scope onto your AR flattop. My 40mm scope in the Armalite mount barely clears the top of the Badger forend I have on my AR. You may have to put a riser on the flattop to get the scope objective high enough to clear the forend. As far as comparison between the Badger & Armalite mounts- it's apples and oranges. The Badger base & rings are steel, and on a different quality/durability level than the aluminum Armalite mount. This being said, I have never had any trouble with my Armalite mount. It has worked & held up great over the years. By the way- Quantico Arms is selling the Armalite mount for $60! |
