What would be the value of a Colt 4x20 scope.  I've had the thing for about 15 years and the guy who I bought it from bought it originally about 5 years before I bought it from him.  It isn't mint but I would like a mint price so the I could go from there.  Gun show next weekend.  need cash.

I would estimate that the original short tube Colt 3x or 4x power scopes in excellent to new condition would be worth 150.00 to 200.00 dollars.
I remember buying two of these scopes in the mid eighties for 80.00 each which was a whopping price back then but they are uniqe and only made for the use on the AR15. One must remember that these scopes are getting hard to locate and retain serious collector value for the colt collector.

I paid $165.00 for my 4x recently. Incidentally, who made these for Colt?

AS i remember the original short tube scopes were produced by a optic firm in Japan. The scopes in new condition had this small gold label attached to the tube body which identified manufacture, I cannot remember the name. I know the latest issue Colt scopes were issued by C-More. These scopes have longer tube and provide three differnt variations and cost from 200-350.00 The C-More optics are of the highest quality and worthy upgrades.

Thanks for the skinny. I'll have to check mine out a bit further, as I'm not sure which one I have. (short vs. slightly longer)
