| I have not seen this discussed yet. But I have noticed that the only proper mount for a compact ACOG on a flat-top is apparantly the TA-60 mount. Due to it being the proper height to clear the front sight tower.. I just emailed A.R.M.S and asked them if they produce a throw lever mount that will do the same thing. Would this be a desireable product for any other members? |

Lancelot: I don't think that thread answers USMC's question. The comp ACOG is much lower over its sight base than the full size ACOGs. I've been told by Wes at MSTN that only the TA60 will hold the comp ACOG high enough to clear a #40, and hence the front sight tower. (The #40, of course, aligning with the front sight tower when raised.) I'd love to know if ARMS or anyone else made a spacer that could be attached directly to the flattop, so the #19ACOG-S could be mounted on top of the spacer. This would allow quick removal AND allow the use of #40 BUIS. However, when I think about it, I don't know how such a spacer would or could attach to the flattop. I think USMC might be in the same boat I'm in: ordering a TA60 because there's no alternative. Experts: are we wrong? [BTW: FmrUSMC must be sick of me highjacking his threads on this topic by now. Sorry, Marine. We're both heading in exactly the same direction, I think.) |

Thanks 3rdtnk, new-arguy, I dont wish to sound ungrateful, but having to buy a mount for a mount seems to be overkill, as well as expensive. I ordered a M.A.D as my BUIS several weeks ago with my new upper. I guess for now I will have to stick to the TA60 until they make one throw lever mount for the Compact ACOG that raises the optic to the TA60 height. Thanks though for the info. [MARINES] |
