I have an Aimpoint CompM2 mounted on my flat top M4gry (Bushmaster 14.5" upper with Phantom Flash suppressor & Oly preban lower with 3 position collapsible stock) using the ARMS mount on a #38 std.  I have only had a chance to use it at close range until today.  I went to a local match where only a few rounds were fired and very close distances.  Red dot made double taps extremely quick.  But after the match, I took some time out at the 300 and 400 yd line.  12" steel plate at 300 and 18" plate at 400.  I cranked down the dot intensity until the dot was visible, but no flare.  Put the dot on the plate at 300 and steady press of the trigger delivered 20 hits for 20 shots.  I did have to use a little Kentucky windage for my holdover at 400, but I only dropped 3 of 10 at 400.

This is not the same as shooting groups on paper, so I have no idea how tight it was shooting, but it met my real world needs.  I picked the aimpoint as the optimum sight from 0-300 meters.  With a 50/250 yd zero, the bullet will never rise above or drop below the line of sight more than about 2.5" between 25 and 275 meters.  With a 4moa dot (4" at 100, 8" at 200 and 12" at 300) I figured no adjustment or holdover was needed as the bullet would land within the dot out to 300.  I guess I was right!

Shooting position was kneeling.  Weather conditions were clear, sunny, temp about 73 with 5-10mph occasional crosswind gusts.

Good deal! The right optic with the right zero can really be a great advantage to the right shooter!
