Anybody using the 2x Aimpoint? I assume the 4MOA Aimpoint is better for 100 M and In and the 2X 2MOA is better out past 100 M.

Never really used one. Sort of played around with one for a while. Most people agree they arent good for much of anything. If you want a non magnified dot optic, stick to the aimpoint, if you want some magnigication, try a Comp ACOG.

WE DEAL IN AIMPOINTS.YET,  WE URGE FOLKS TO CONSIDER SOMETHING ELSE BESIDES THE 2X. THE FIELD OF VIEW IS VERY NARROW.

The dot size is not different just the field of view (what little there is) is twice as large thus covering half the target.  It really is the worst optic I have seen and its obvious the magnification is an after thought and the scope was not designed for it.

Have you checked one out yet?  Every new friend I know who wants to know about optics I make sure to show the 2X Aimpoint to and noone has ever liked it.  There are people on this board who own and like them but I just dont see how.  Id go to a gunshow and just look through it before making a choice.

I have one on my M1A Scout and find myself looking through it with one eye open as opposed to two. I still like it for my purposes but if I could do it again I'd go with a 1x power.
