Went out today and fired XM193 out of the AR mounted with the Aimpoint ML2.  (Shootig at  some steel silhouette plates)  With a zero @ 100yds there is a 4" drop fifference @200yds and a 2.5'(foot) drop at 300yds.

Head shots @ 100yds impacted dead center.
Head shots @ 200yds impacted in the neck.
Head shots @ 300yds impacted in lower abdomen area.
The day gave me some great familiarization with the optic.  I had winds shifting from full to half value and with varying speeds.  I was able to determine the windage compensation by increments of half dot on target, full dot to the left or right, or by placing space between the target and dot.

Conclusion: If I have to be shittin and gettin with my Aimpoint mounted AR, I will be confident and good to go with a little Kentucky windage and holdover!

I have read several places that if you sight in an Aimpoint at 50 yards, you will be dead on at 200. There is apparently a "trajectory crossover" at those two distances. Either way it sounds like you're sighted in "close enough" to stay alive here.

Absolutely should sight that dot in at 50yds.  The +or- out to 200 will be 2" or less.  Out at 300 yds it should not be as extreme.

It's all about the zero.

This only goes to show that the max range for an Aimpoint zeroed at 100 yards is. This also goes to show why very, very few people zero their Aimpoints in at 100 yards. Rezero at 50 and see what happens.

Zero the sight at 200 or better yet, 225 yards.

(2.1 inches high at 100 yards, 62 grain FMJ)

Outstanding to see somebody actually shooting their rifle and learning where it shoots to.

"11. If you have an M68 CCO (Aimpoint CompM-XD) optical sight battlesight it to 50/200 as well. You can shoot to 300 meters by merely holding "over a dot.""

Well then, my 100yd zero tests confirm the advantages of having the 50yd zero!
