I purchased an ARMS#39 used, and am having problems mounting it on the carry handle of my M4 carry handle Bushy. I had read in other posts that the bottom of the mount will interfere with the handguards, I anticipated that and was prepared to grind/switch handguards. But there is a 1/4" of clearance btwn the mount and handguards. The 1/4" of clearance is not allowing my brand new Eotech 552 to co-witness with the irons. The mount was sold to me as an ARMS 39, however it says A2Plus on it. No where does it say "39". Was I mislead, or am I not installing it correctly? Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions? The #39 A2plus puts the optics at the same ht. as the #38 sleeve, and SIR system. The Eotech will sit higher and won't co-witness, but that hasn't been a problem in shooting. The co0witness is only usfull if you are ion a firefight and your batteries die. So if you are not in a combat zone with the Eotech optic you will have a very good combination of mount and scope to see and hit most anything you shoot at. ARMS have a new military mount that is in service that allows you to see under the Eotech for full use opf the irons that attaches via a single throw lever./ The throw lever is much nicer for the troops as it is 10 times faster than trying to get the Eotech off via the thumb nut, and 100 times faster to remove than trying to find and use an alen wrench out in the field. It puts the Eotech up high so they can engage targets very fast even with a gas mask on. Good shootin, Jack |

So I understand. 1. You're NOT having any problems mounting the ARMS #39A2Plus on your Bushmaster carbine (even though you say you are). Screw drops thru the hole in the carry hand and the clamp fits nicely around the front of the handle. 2. You NOT having problems mounting the EOTech sight on the #39. Fits securely in a slot. 3. Your EOTech does NOT align the dot with the sights. The problem is with the EOTech sight. Since it won't align with the sights you'll have to figure out two different zeros. May not be different enough to matter at normal combat shoting ranges. -- Chuck |

Uhm, I tell you my lesson which I have paid a lot to learn. If your scope is aimpoint M2, ML2 or other similar, then you can use 1. (SIR or other rails for flat-top) + ARMS 22M68 (not spacer). 2. bare flat-top + ARMS 22M68 with spacer (or GG&G cantiler mount). 3. Use ARMS 39 for A2 upper + ARMS 22M68 (not spacer) If your scope is eotech or bushnell holosight, then 1. mount on a bare flat-top upper. 2. for A2 upper, use bc-cam mount from eotech ($110). Whatever you do, co-witness is the goal. |
