I just picked up a new Aimpoint Comp ML2 from SWFA. What is considered the optimum sight-in distance? Thanks!

What is the dot's Moa? I have a 3 moa and I have chosen to sight it at 50yd. At 100 the dot is too big to be accurately sighted...

Sighting in 2.1 inches high at 100 yards gives you a 225 yard zero and a point blank range out to 300 yards using 55 grain bullets from an 18 barrel.

The ammo's velocity does matter.

The best way to know where your rifle shoots is to take it to the range.

NEw ML2 has a dot size of 4MOA, at is 4 inches at 100. I suggest the 50 yard sight in, dead on at 50 will give you 3inches high at 100, at 250 you are dead on again and drop about 5 inches at 300 depending on the ammo.

Try to check out this excellent web site for some very informative articles.

If you're mouting it on a flattop or gooseneck type mount (so its inline with the irons).

Then zero it at 50 yards.  That produces a nice flat trajectory (round stays within 2" of the point of aim from 8M to 220M)

This is the zero I use with my Reflex and my rifles..
