Finally got one, a few questions.......

The eyepiece appears adjustable for focus. True?

Is that an "L" for left, superimposed over the clockwise arrow on the windage adjustment knob?

What is the purpose of the slot screw on the opposite side of the windage adjustment?

How in the hell are the leather covers supposed to go on the rear eyepiece when the scope is mounted. (A2 rear sight gets in the way unless you bottom the sight).

Yes the eye piece, or occular, is to adjust the focus but that means the focus of the reticle. Not the field of view (although it does do this to some extent).

Yes again, the "L" is to indicate direction of travel of the windage adjustment.

The "screw" cover on the left side is for assembly of the reticle assembly during manufacture. Call it an access port.

That is a great question because on an A1 upper it is very tight to near impossible to use the covers as designed and you are correct that when using an A2 upper you need as much down travel as possible.

Most folks finaly opt for some Butler Creek pop open covers and stow the leather ones in the box along with the instructions. The BC covers have a little less meat so to speak and will fit quite well, and they stay in place keeping the lenses clean.

Butler Creek flip covers WILL work with a mounted scope?

Absolutely! Got them on several of mine. I'll see if I can dig up the BC numbers. It's been quite some time since I outfitted my rigs but they work great. Plus they seal out moisture. They are not water proof, but unlike the factory leather covers, they will not hold moisture.
