Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Springfield line of scopes. I've always been a faithful Leupold owner but lately the Springfields have attracted my attention, however I'm a little hesitant since they haven't been around for long, and just because a company can make great rifles doesn't mean they know anything about scopes.

Here are a couple of Springfield scopes on my rifles.  I love them and the ease of use in rangefinding.  Just remember that most of them are balistically matched to .308 so be careful of which one you buy if you are buying one for something other than a .308.

A friend was telling me of a tactical scope test in I think he said SWAT Magazine .ALL tested from Tasco ,Schmit & Bender Swavorski ,Nikon had problems . According them the only scopes lacking NOTHING were the Leopolds .

Ya pays your money & takes your chances...

I had the 2nd gen 4-14x56 range finding and I didn't like it.The range finding recticle was way too busy/cluttered for me.These are BIG HEAVY scopes.I think the 56mm objective is way too big.50mm at the most. For the same money or just a little more you can get a Leupold.

An original 1st gen 4-14x56   modified by SA for the sunshade.

I originally had this on the M1A, but that is way too big.

It's ok for the pss.  I have entertained thoughts of a 'smaller' obj scope with mildot.
but that takes $$$
