Neil, Thanks for the info. Would you consider co-witnessing to be an important aspect? First, hopefully my rifle will never be used in a defensive scenario to defend my life. Second, chances are pretty good that an EOTech won't fail leaving me with a useless weapon, but if it does, chances are in my situation that it won't be during a critical moment. It's hard to tell from the photo how durable the BC-CAM is. The ARMS #39 looks very stout. Basically, I just need to decide if co-witnessing is justifiable in my case. If it is, then it will be the BC-CAM, otherwise the ARMS #39. Thanks! |
| The BC-CAM works great. I have a new one that I planned to use but changed upper to a flattop. Email me if you want to take it off my hands. [email protected] |

I am not a soldier, I am not a police officer, I am not in the national guard. My AR's are not duty AR's. However, none of my AR's are set up to be range guns. If the range is the only action they ever see, I will be fine by that. It means I am staying safe. However, each one of my AR's is set up more or less for real world use. Some more than others, and my favorite ones especially, but all of them are set up with the idea that I may have to trust them with my life. I am conviced that my ACOGs, Reflex's and Aimpoints are built about as tough as any optic can be, and I would easily bet my life on any them. But not to the point where I wont have back up iron sights. On something like an EoTech, there is just no good reason to not have a mount that co-witnesses when good mounts that do are available. I personally agree with Chuck and dont know why people would go with an EoTech over an Aimpiont (m68). But thats just me. I would never tell anyone not to get one. I know the EoTech is a fine sight, and I know too many good people who love theirs. I just dont like them much and that is a purely subjective opinion. I find them bulky, I hate the controls, it has short battery life, the reticle seems grainy to me, I have read too many stories about them fogging up, and reports of adjustments breaking. I guess thats why I still dont own one. |
| I've got a 551 with the BC gooseneck on my AR. I recommend it highly, you look just over the rear sight for heads up but can use irons in an instant. I like the NV operation with goggles also. I have to disagree with you Aimpoint guys, I've used both and I'm Eotech all the way. 552 on my Hk 91 also. |
