You may remember the public test I conducted here way back, here if you are wondering what's going on, here is a statement that our lawyer allowed me to present to the public. I can't reveal too much beyond this. If I am not answering any of your questions, it is not because I don't want to, it is because I can't. Here is what I can say:
We regret that the U.S. Federal Government has refused to provide clearance for Ross & Zheng Engineering or Ross Special Tactical Optics to display or market the Unimag multicaliber AR-15 magazine at the SHOT Show because Dr. Jing Zheng, the inventor and U.S. patent holder for the Unimag, who was educated in and resides in the United States, was born in the People's Republic Of China and has not yet received his U.S. Permanent Residence. We are working to obtain authorization to market and sell the Unimag as soon as possible. I hope this is not the end of the story, but when I know, you will know. |

We're glad you're here. If you need anyone to write supporting letters towards granting Permanent Residence, all you have to do is ask. Despite our frequent grammatical errors in posting, when we put actual pen to paper we can make it read pretty well.

This has nothing to do with Shotshow polocy, it has everything to do with ME.
Because I am not a US citizen, nor do I currently posses a permanent residency of US, aka green card, I am barred from manufacturing or sale product that "I" designed. Foreign nationals are not barred from participate in firearm business, but certain foreign nationals, like Chinese, are exceptions. ITAR 126.1 bars import and export firearm and ammunition from China. In my case, it includes IP as well. I didn't know this until recently. You think I am trying to make a stunt by NOT displaying the product I want to sell in the world biggest trade show in this business, so I can get more out of it? You are out of you mind! |

Thanks for chiming back in. I've had lots of people asking about the magazine who have seen me with it at the range and I can now fill them in on the story. Weren't you partnered with another company on this that would get around the ITAR? Or do you personally hold the patent for the magazine?
Did you ever take pre-sale money? If so, did end up refunding customers or are you anticipating a quick resolution in which this will come back to the market soon? |
