| I'm getting ready to order a few mags for my new AR. Is there any down side to the Magpul Pmags with the windows vs the regular ones? I kinda like the idea of being able to see how many rounds are remaining. Will be ordering from either Midway or PSA unless someone has a better idea. |

Transparent magazines cannot show rounds remaining under 10 (they are obscured by the magazine well). Window PMags use a marker on the spring coil that acts as a gas gauge for all rounds remaining. Quoted:

However I really prefer the translucent polymer magazines. If magpul made a translucent I would buy a case. Of course you know this already. Translucent pmags would sell. Perhaps not as well as the plain black but they would sell. I won't hold my breath for those |
| I don't see a point of the window. I don't check my mags for the number of rounds remaining. If I want to know if it's low I will remove it and 'eyeball' the weight. I don't do that since I shoot the magazine until it's empty. I will never be in a situation where I need to know how many rounds I have in a magazine and need to change to a full mag because my life depends on it. I also count my shots. Odd habit. |

| Why are you looking at your magazine when you should be shooting/looking at your target? Translucent mags are better than the tiny window. I prefer Lancer(they fare better than pmag in all the youtube torture tests). The new ETS translucent mags look really promising, been running them in my Tavor. |

Translucent mags will only show the rounds visible outside of the magazine well (20-30) The gas gauge on the window PMag can register 0-30 rounds pretty easily at a glance with the mag in the rifle. Quoted:

As for strength, here are some M3 test videos. Watch these and me know how much stronger do you need the magazine to be? |
