I know someone that purchased a couple of these mags http://www.kyimports.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_7_30&products_id=30
and later found this posting http://www.longislandfirearms.com/forum/topic/50991-word-of-advise-about-colt-prebans-from-ky-imports/ The person from long Island firearms is spot on! He compared known colt pre bans to the one from kyimports and they matched his description. If you Google "Long Island Firearms word of advice Colt" and click the Image tab The 1st 4 images that come up are from this posting and you can see what i'm talking about. There was no date code internally or externally and I compared my known pre ban Colts with black and green followers right before the cut off date with his from kyimports and found it to be just like the pics and description also. The metal in front of the mags follower, color of the green follower, welds and the floor plate which was a much shinier and deeper black color but did match my pre bans. I find this kind of behavior to be very dissapointing along with the fact that he paid almost $50 for what he was led to believe is New Old Stock pre bans. Swapping Floor plates on new undated mag bodies is Nice way to take advantage of people that are forced to follow these laws and potentially jam them up in $$$$ of legal fees and felony charges, NOT COOL! Here is the seller on Gunbroker the pics look more like colt mags can't see the welds but the metal in front of follower looks correct. That's exactly what he got but at $50 each from kyimports, At least this seller isn't selling to ban states and jacking the price. |

At least they are trying to be upfront about them. KYImports has pictures of real Colts and is charging Pre Ban prices. They do not have ANY markings or stamps but the design is unstamped c-products mag bodies. The person I know that received them was also given a receipt labeling them as Pre Ban mags. Did someone forge a bunch of floor plates somewhere? |

Yes, there were a shit load of fake Colt floorplates that started surfacing a year or so ago. |

You should be very skeptical anytime a dealer claims to have found Cases of 20+ year old preban Colts that are new/unused. |
