I got some of the Lancer AWM last month and decided to try them out the problem is the mag wont lock in place with 30rds in the mag and bolt closed. If I take 1 round out it will lock now my pmags will work with 30 in it. Anyone else having the same problem?

No problems with mines.  Did you slapped that bitch of a magazine up the magwell?

Kinda but dont want to break anything the pmag I can push in with 1 finger and it locks

Your not gonna break it...slap the damn thing in there or down load it by one until the spring loosens up a bit.

Break them down and trim the legs on the bottom of the follower.

Did this to mine and it makes it much easier to lock in.

The follow stop just sets the maximum capacity of the magazine.

Cutting it down will not effect the performance of the magazines and will not void the warranty as long as you don't load more than 30 rounds.

BEWARE - CAUTION - if you cut down the follower stop we recommend you still only load 30 rounds in the magazine, loading 31 without enough free space will result in a stoppage or cause damage the magazine.

Nothing is going to break by giving them a solid slap.
Or you can trim down the follower stop.

I don't have to slap mine but they do need to be put in firmly, deliberately I would call it with some force. It's a good mag. I only own 3 5.56 30 round  brands, elander modified v2, lancer L5 AWM and the best IMO for the money, the CAA polymer mag. I love this mag and you can get it non price gouged even on gun broker.  Won't even look at a magpul right now because their isn't anyone not gouging the price. Sorry, it's simly not worth the money.

Flame the anti gouging magpul infidel now.

I hate when people post lke this but here I go. When I got my first lancer I loaded it up and it wouldn't seat good. I had not paid attention and loaded 31. When I took it down to 30 it loaded perfectly. Just my experience lancers easily hold 31 but don't seat well when loaded as such.

You can actually do that to a PMAG too.   I have not tired overloading either mags lately.  Another fun project to do at midnight.

Something is wrong with your Lancer mag.  They were made to some spec requirements, one of them being that it would not be possible to load 31 rounds into the magazine.  That requirement is why its a more snug to lock in the magwell that other polymer mags like Pmags.

I ordered 5 gen 3 pmags for $14.20 each last night. Plus about $10 to ship. Got shipment confirmation today. They are out there, you just have to be diligent.

Then something is wrong with all 70 of them!  L5AWM's

Lancer posted some instructions awhile back for removing the spacer if you want all your AWM's to hold 31 rounds instead of 30.

I think if you push hard enough a 31st round will fit in a box-stock fresh unmodified AWM.

When you chop the little piece off the follower, it takes the 31st round with room to spare.

I just load 30 rounds in all of my mags.  Although the theory of having 3.3% more ammo in all my mags is a nice thought.
