Apologize if this is an old question, I searched and could not find an answer.  When I bought a Colt 6601 around 1994, it came with 2 blocked 20 rd magazines so they only hold 5 rounds.  These seem quite nice, except for the round limitation.  Is it possible and worthwhile to try to alter them to hold 20 rounds?  I don't see myself hunting anything on 4 legs with this weapon.  And if I have to use it socially, a 5 round mag is not so helpful......

It's normally pretty easy to do.
On the floor plate there should be the head of a pop rivet.
Drill the rivet out, remove the floor plate, and take out the metal spacer.
Reassemble the mag and load 20 rounds.

there was a thread about this recently -  worth looking for it.

iirc, they could be worth more as 5rd mags.    I would say even more so after the new NY law.

offer to trade them for new 30rd mags
