Service life of CS is more than ten times better.
CS is much more heat resistant.
CS is more susceptible to rust although I have not had a problem.
For instance a Tubb’s CS flatwire op spring is advertised to be good for 500,000 cycles.

ETA: Brownell’s has coated CS mag springs that should be more rust resistant.

CProducts CS spring pulled out of a new mag that was stored for a couple years.  All mine are now SS.

Wow.... Was it left outside or get wet... If CS rusts like that the spring may crumble to dust before you get to 500,000 rounds

I bought two cases from them years ago. All the springs looked like that from the beginning. Crumbling rust. Both boxes were returned.

THESE are the shiznit for affordable SS springs.  I helped clean 'em out.

I replace all of my PMAGs, D&Hs etc with these.  They are the absolute shiznit.

I also spray each spring with some serious dry film/moly lube stuff.  Super slick and strong springs.

I though CS was preferred over SS.

To me, it is. I always choose CS springs whenever I have the option.
Sure a CS spring will get some surface rust occasionally, but unless you're leaving it out in the rain indefinitely, that's as far as it goes.
But I generally keep my mags in the house, so I don't worry about rust.
But a light coating of surface rust won't hurt the springs ability to do it's job, nor will it shorten it's life.
Now, leaving it out in the elements for an extended time may be a different matter.

Yeah, I have ordered their CS springs several times, so I have a good supply of them on hand.
Hell, at a buck each it'd be silly to not have quite a few spares on hand.

Cpro used shitty material.

The problem was they were not coated.

PMAGs already come with a high-quality stainless steel spring that should give you tens-of-thousands of rounds of service life.

With the cost of ammunition, spring life comparisons between CS and SS is somewhat of a moot point (as long as proper materials and designs are used, etc.)

How were they, any rust issues?

I ordered a bunch of them to replace old springs from preban mags but haven't done anything with them yet.
