Hi,
I just purchased a DPMS bull barrel 22LR upper and it comes with a 10 round Black Dog Mag. My question is are there other Mags that are compatible with the DPMS upper such as a CMMG Mag? Thanks Steve |

If you got a DPMS upper, it is made by Nordic Components with the DPMS name on it. Congratulations on not following the crowd and getting the CMMG kits! I have the original from Nordic and couldn't be happier with my decision. I wager you will feel the same way since they are about as reliable as any 5.56 upper on the market today and very accurate. Now, to answer your question. Both Nordic and I recommend you stick with the Black Dog magazines as the uppers were originally designed around that mag specifically. They are reasonably priced and of excellent quality as well as being readily available from a variety of vendors (try to get them from one of the site sponsors if you can). I have many of the 25 round style with the stainless feed lips. They have proven to be reliable after several thousand rounds of hard use. Don't get me wrong here CMMG fans, I have nothing against CMMG or their components. They are a fine company with a great reputation for customer service. I based my purchase decision on engineering and reliability. There are many documented cases on this forum with magazine and function issues that CMMG is constantly trying to improve. Kudos to them for constantly making their products better. |
