I have a 30 round colt mag.On the inside it is marked k1 on one side and the opposite side of that is marked 01.I've heard that k1 might be 1971 and 01 means january? I'm pretty sure they are pre ban because after 1994 they should be marked on the outside mag body, but heard of a few companies that do not mark them as well, that are post ban.Hope this is posted in the right spot as i am a newbee to this.

I'm curious to see these marking too. I've heard of them but never seen any on any of my mags.

Yes, they are pre-ban OKay Industries mags.  The letter "O" on one side with the month number, and the letter "K" on the other side with the month ("O" and "K" for Okay Industries).  After 1986, they stamped both month and year inside.  I have a bunch of them.

Here are pics of both sides.  This particular Mag has a Colt floorplate, and was made in April.  Year unknown:






This last pic isn't mine.  I stole it from the interwebz.  It clearly shows the year stamp on the later mags:

thanks for the replies.My mags are the same as the first two pics accept k1 01 stampings inside.Thanks for the pic posting instructions my pics came out pretty bad not worth putting up,if i can get some better shots i will put them up.
