I'm getting a deal on a bunch of used surplus mags next month. Now would everyone resell them and get pmags or sell some to replace the springs and followers in whats left?

Unless they're pre-ban, you probably won't get much for them. I'd keep them and use them as training/range mags.

I just bought some Okay surplus mags for $6 each, I pulled the old green follower and replaced it with the new magpul follower. They should be good to go now. The springs were nice and tight so I'll leave them alone and test them out at the range.

If I have to replace the springs, I'll go with the Wolff springs. I've had great success with Wolff springs in my AR mags and my M1 Carbine mags.

I'm not big fan of "range mags" or people who spend all their ime and money at a range. Once I sight in a gun I only bring it out of the safe every 3-4 months to put a mag through it to make sure it hasn't been bumped or something.  And if I can't trust a mag to run 100% it's tossed. So I'm leaning towards reselling them all and getting pmags. But I do like the feel of metal mags and would consider checking feed lips and just upgrading springs and followers.

I'd say it all depends on how much it costs to replace the springs and followers. New mags don't cost much so it would have to be pretty cheap for me to do so.
I also agree with not having range mags, prefer to train with what you may have to fight with.

Who are the vendors that sell the best springs and followers? I know magpul sells followers that have a high reputation but I don't see them listed on their website. Do their springs work in metal mags too?

There was/is? a guy in the EE who had/has? bags full of different colored magpul followers. IRRC his prices were better than most.

He still has his ad... charges 1.60 per follower. A quick search will lead you to him.
