For the M-11/9mm......are they ever in steel or other metal? If so, where?

Plastic may be inexpensive........but for a gun built out of metal (and heavy) I'm a little bit apprehensive to find the magazine looking like a cheap piece of plastic.

Factory mags are plastic (Zytel). I understand someone sells metal feed lip inserts if you start to wear yours.

There is at least one company that modifies another all-metal subgun mag to fit, but they cost about $50 each and will not let you extend/stow the wire stock properly when they are in the magwell.

One day I took out my M-11 to fire, I think I fired one time, let off the trigger and no shit all the ammunition shot straight up out of the gun, through the ejection port and on the ground.  It was a pretty interesting thing to see, I had a cracked Zytel mag.

the other options are a little more expensive, even the zytel mags are fine but they can break.

"That's reassuring."

Guns are like Barbi dolls for sure. You buy the basic and then you are always looking for the right accessories.

I have yet to fire my M-11; for one thing, didn't have any magazines. Between the trigger slap and now this, it should be an interesting first date. For me, it would not be a disastorous first date but then again, I'm experienced. But the M-11 was bought, in part, for a fit hitting the shan situation as a simple gun to arm inexperienced family members. Such an incident, I cannot see as going well at all.

I know,  I hope, that this was just an outside occurance.............of course.

As I alluded to, not very reassuring. But I suppose the answer is to put the plastic mags on a frequent buying schedule and continue to search for better ones.
