Not sure which is the most popular extra power mag springs are, maybe you should make a poll and we shall find out.

Myself I've been using Wolff extra power mag springs about 5 years now on my most used USGI mags with Magpul gen 1/ 2/ 3 followers, works great for me, no complaints.

Other extra power springs that I know of but have no experience with are:

Tubb SpeedLock Chrome Silicon
CMMG Braided Wire Replacement Spring
Specialized Armament Warehouse (SAW) Extreme Duty Red

There are others of course and someone will hopefully add them in.

I just bought some from 44Mag and installed into Pmags.  Work great and solved my problems.

i'm not trying to hijack this thread, but maybe someone can help me understand why extra power springs are desired.

A little more tension behind the follower.  Gets the rounds out a tad quicker.

Horse shit...

I've rebuilt 100s of 20rd and 30rd magazines with Wolff extra-power magazine springs.

No "jamming" issues at all....

Just curious, what problems were you having with your PMags?

I thought the post was saying if you were having problems and thought the springs would correct it then all it would do is make the problem happen faster not that it would cause the jamming.

So are you saying a regular power spring wouldn't work, but an "extra power" one did??  If so there is probably something else wrong, but good for you if it worked.

I needed these to help fix my bolt hold open issue when using a extented bolt release combined with PMAGs. Neither parts were malfunctioning, but not working well when combined together. Extra-power springs fix these kind of issues that are sometimes generated by upgrading to non-milspec parts.

Same here but USGI's worked just fine.  Only the PMAG's were the problem.  Switched the springs and fixed.

just shooting from memory,  the new USGI mag with the tan/yellow follower has a higher pressure spring. But I don't know by how much.   So the military must have thought it was worth doing.

Wonder why they waited 40 years to figure it out

Then again some aftermarket company will claim they invented it and the military stole it from them

FWIW I have two Sabre Defense marked D&H mags sans anti tilt (no idea what year) and a couple dozen brand new D&H USGI mags with new Magpul followers in them.  All worked just fine.

I bought a bunch of these http://www.44mag.com/prodinfo.asp?number=CT30SS and they seem to work great. I am just a little concerned that they are only $.99 each. This makes me wounder how long they will last in the long run, but they are running perfectly for now.

99 cents aint a bad replacement cost. Say ten mags, ten bucks. Even if they crap out in a year, I have wasted more money on shorter performance stuff.
