Picked up a couple PMAGs, including 2 20-rounders.  Found out during a function check that the PMAG20s don't lock the bolt back.  No issues with the 30 round OMAHa, Lancers or a Colt 30-round mag.

Any ideas?

ETA:  I know MagPul will take care of me, I am just curious if anyone else has had this issue?
ETA2:  Sent MagPul an email, and I heard back from them.  They are sending me a couple replacements, and a shipping label to return the two that aren't working properly.

I have 8 Pmag 20s that I've picked up at different times since they first came out and had no problems in Bushmaster, LMT and Stag lowers.  Make sure your mag catch is adjusted properly and that you are fully inserting the magazines.  Does the follower move freely with finger pressure?  Any abnormalities in the magazine body or follower?

Mag catch seems fine, and mags are fully inserted.  Follower moves freely.  Took the upper off, and looked at the trouble spot:

Back right edge of the 20-rounder, the vertical "ridge" is .005-.010" larger than the one on the 30-round PMAG, and is creating a large amount of friction, not allowing the bolt hold open to move freely.  It's a visible "bump" in the vertical ridge.  Kept one the way it was, and used a file and knife edge to shave away it away on the 2nd mag.  2nd mag now engages the bolt hold open with no issues, and releases properly.

Looks like that's all I have to do.

I've kept the 1st one the way it came, just in case Magpul wants it back.

Only other thing is there is a rough "hole" on the front of both 20-rounders seem.  Probably just cosmetic, I just want to make sure it's not something that will affect function at some point.

I think I had some issues with a 20 round pmag on my last range trip. It has the black follower and didn't lock back on the last round about 25% of the time. There is also a plastic tit that separates the tip of the bullets on the left from the bullets on the right at the front of the mag that I don't find on my 30 round mags with the grey follower. I had 2 double feeds in 250 rounds that I am hoping was the mag, I will try the 30 round mags next weekend and see if it goes better. The new upper I was shaking down is from AR performance and may be a little under gassed. All I had with me was cheap ammo, I will try some M193 in it, hoping that’s the ticket.

I'm glad this came up.  I had this same issue this week and couldn't make heads or talis of it.

03/09 production stamp.

had this issue with my older 20 round pmags w/ older gen followers.  Picked up two new ones w/ gen III followers (late 09) and ZERO problems.

Magpul sent out a pair of replacements, which I received yesterday.  The new ones, which have the same "born on date", or nearly so, alleviate the problem.

Did you have to send yours back first, or did they just send a return shipping label with the new ones?  Nice when a company steps up and sends replacement parts instead of asking you to front shipping and be without the product while waiting.

They sent replacements, which also had a return shipping label in the package.  I wasn't out a single cent.
