Can anyone enlighten me on why I see so many magazines with tape on the bottom? Is it just a noise thing or something I don't know about...

Typically its for homemade Mag-puls (550 cord looped around the base and secured with duct tape)
Can also have numbers written on them for identifying ownership and/or function of the mags.

Some people do it to make their mags stand out from others.

I use different colored tapes to remind me what type of ammo is loaded in them.

All of the reasons mentioned plus it makes them easier to grab when wet or sweaty.

I got a few Colt 20 rd. mags that have tape on them and still have lots of finish left so don't what to remove the finish when trying to get the tape/adhesive off. What do you guys use to remove old tape adhesive?
