Ok, I have been using 40 round USA mags with CMMG springs and STS followers to good effect in 3 gun matches, but since the rear of the feed lips isn't supported, they do seem to bend up regularly.

So, I am now seeing higher capacity mags offered by several places and I am considering replacing the old USA's, but after doing a bit of research, I realize I need to know more to make a decision.  My personal need is for a reliable [100%, not 95%, not most of the time] 40+ round magazine for use during 3 gun matches.  These mags need to be 100% out of the box, I don't want to have to shoot up boxes of ammo to break them in.  Granted, a jam on a 3 gun stage isn't as important as say during a firefight in the sandbox, but I would still like to avoid them by virtue of my wise choice...

So, my questions are:

Who makes 40+ round magazines - list 'em all, including the obvious ones. Pictures and street prices are appreciated.
For each offering, what are the pro-s and con's of the design?

If this thread goes well, maybe it can be a stickey reference...

Update:

Ok so we have [feel free to correct]:
CMMG      [one piece 42]
DPMS       [welded 45]
C products  [one piece 43]
Lancer   [clamp kit 48]
Nordic   [pmag clamp kit 45]
USA     [one piece 40 round]

Thread I started asking opinion on CMMG & C-Products 40's

I bought 2 CMMG 40's and was not really impressed with them. I just ordered 2 C-Product 40's, hopefully they'll be better.

(Palmetto has both currently on sale for $26.95)

You will see my report on the C-Products 43-rounder above. I just bought several more, they also run 100% (even with 2 cinched together). I have been a critic of C-Products in the past, but this time they hit a home run.

The C Products mags look much better than CMMG and function just as good. The CMMG mag's finish is not that good but it is heavier and has their metal ATF follower. Personally I would go with the C Products.

Ok  [edited out unintentional offence] this is what I am looking for.   Without knowing what I am looking for, even comming up with search terms was a challenge...

Tried this in another post.....but remember the PMAG extensions? They really worked great, but a little spendy at $54.00 + a magazine.

Well, the good news is, they have been re-designed and are kinda neat in that you can get them in black....or clear. AND....about 1/2 the cost that they used to be.

SUPER out of the box reliable too!!!!.....If your PMAG works in your rifle.....this will work.

How does that material hold up to the drop test?

5 foot drop test......no problems. The mat'l is polycarbonate.....or as other people call it...lexan.

I should say a little more on the drop test we did.....it was dropped 5 feet on to concrete, many, many times....loaded with 48 rounds

Droped it with the feed lip protector on and off.....dropped it flat on it's sides, on the base, on the front, on the back and on the lips. The only thing that broke was the MAGPUL feed lip protector.....which after taking that many hit's I was suprised it lasted as long as it did!! (and it took a direct impact on the back hook, probably the single most weakest point). Nothing else broke, still functioned in the rifle. At one point, one shell did spring out the top...but only one, and only once. The magpul magazine, I'm sure was never tested with that many rounds in it (48).....but came thru like a trooper!!! And, the Extension HAD to keep up with the parent magazine.....it did.
